Adam T.
Q: Who are you? Where are you from?
A: Hey, my name is Adam and I’m from a small town in the Greater Boston area. I’m a first generation American and the youngest sibling of four.
Q: What’s your background? What did you do before Modulate?
A: My background is in marketing operations, which I pivoted to after graduating with a History degree. I fell in love with the field's blend of creativity, strategy, and analytical thinking – it was a perfect fit for me.
Q: Why are you joining Modulate?
A: I’ve been a gamer since I was a kid. Some of my earliest ‘gaming’ memories were playing Spyro titles on the PS1 with my family. It was a big part of my childhood, and looking back, it was also an important activity that brought all my siblings together.
I want to share that experience with my future kids, and would love to have a part in building a safe environment for everyone to participate in.
Q: What’s your ideal work environment? Any special strategies you use to stay effective?
A: I like a mix of independent and collaborative work. I also enjoy an environment where everyone is free to discuss ideas and voice their opinions about various topics - a brainstorming sesh is always welcome.
One of the strategies I use is scheduling ‘flow’ time where I do deep work. Also, getting the hard stuff out of the way first thing in the morning.
Q: Tell us about something you must have in any culture you join?
A: Transparency and good people.
Q: Who are you outside of work?
A: I love hanging out with friends, family, and my dog Zelda. I also like discussing history and current events with the people in my life.
I spend my time watching a lot of TV and movies, reading, gaming, thrifting, and trying out new restaurants. I’m also starting to get into cooking, wish me luck!
Q: What’s something you’re great at that few people realize?
A: Probably history trivia. Also map-based strategy games.
Q: Leave us with a fun tidbit - a favorite joke, a story from your past, an obscure riddle, whatever you like!
A: Here’s a quote that has always given me strength in my life:
"He who has a why to live can bear almost any how." - Friedrich Nietzsche
