The Gaming Safety Coalition: Uniting the Industry

When it comes to making online spaces safer, collaboration is key — and no organization exemplifies that better than the Gaming Safety Coalition. As a collective of developers, platforms, safety experts, and advocacy groups, the Coalition brings together some of the most influential voices in gaming to tackle trust and safety challenges head-on.

The Coalition isn't just talking about safety — it's taking action. From publishing research and best practices to launching actionable resources like the “5 Myths in Trust & Safety” tip sheet, the Coalition equips studios with real-world tools to build healthier, more inclusive communities. By creating space for open dialogue and aligning on shared goals, the Gaming Safety Coalition is helping the industry shift from reactive moderation to proactive, player-first design.

k-ID: Age-Appropriate Access Without Compromise

Our partnership with k-ID focuses on just that — providing seamless, privacy-first age assurance and parental consent flows for online games. Together, we’re helping studios build spaces that are not only fun and safe, but legally compliant across complex regulatory landscapes like COPPA and GDPR-K.

In partnership with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), Modulate is working to fight hate speech and extremist behaviors where they too often begin — online. Keywords Studios: Empowering Human Moderators

Great moderation technology should never replace human expertise: it should enhance it. That’s why we partnered with Keywords Studios to provide their professional moderation teams with the best tools for tackling online toxicity. Together, we’re helping moderators get ahead of bad behavior by surfacing high-priority voice incidents with greater context and accuracy — reducing burnout and improving outcomes for both players and platforms.

PlayFab: Scalable Safety Tools for Studios

As part of Microsoft Game Dev, PlayFab empowers developers with backend tools that unify and scale game operations across platforms. From player data and matchmaking to moderation integrations and live ops, PlayFab acts as the connective tissue that can help any studio bring all the pieces together. PlayFab has robust player identity capabilities to link and track players as they move between platforms, player ban capabilities for easy enforcement actions and rich player data features that can be used to build enforcement actions for specific game systems, economy features that enable fraud prevention and receipt validation and UGC moderation, and a powerful event ingestion and actions pipeline called PlayStream that empowers creators to take real-time actions on events and bring data from their own safety tooling into PlayFab for cross-platform enforcement.
